Books are often referred to as the best companions in life that provide us with knowledge, enrich our minds and equally entertain us. Irrespective of good or bad times, books are always there by our side. Books can mainly be categorized into two types: Fiction and Non-Fiction. While each category boasts a vast assortment of books, what kind of book a reader finds worthwhile to read depends on their tastes and choices. I, personally, am the type of reader who likes to read fictions.

In this era of modern times, every day is a challenge for every one of us as we are constantly running from one place to another in pursuit of success and status which I am no exception of. So, a dip into the world of fiction offers me respite from the hustle and bustle of my daily life and transport me to another world that is so different from the hectic modern world. I get to experience how creative and imaginative an author can be through the world they build and the characters they introduce. Each story has a different message to convey and a variety of characters that offer various perspective into life.

Every story is built around a fictional world that is purely the works of an author’s imagination inspired by real life. Diving into this imaginary world grants me a sense of relaxation and an escape from the busy modern life. I get to explore an entirely new world that is so different from the world we live in yet so similar. It is also exciting to get introduced to characters that are so creatively crafted and meticulously personalized.

Some stories are told from only one reference point or character and others are told from multiple reference points or points of view. Each story, whether told from a single point of view or from multiple perspectives, has its own charm. A single reference point story gives the reader a chance to look at the fictional world from the character’s eyes while a multiple points of view story offers numerous perspectives and thus increases the story in dimension. These stories through multi-dimensional characters invoke empathy in the reader’s heart by allowing them to recognize and embrace the complexities of human nature as a result of which readers get to know and understand real life people better. Besides, while reading a reader is completely hooked into the story and is constantly brainstorming to keep up with the ongoing plot which leads to improving critical thinking skills. Reading a novel like this not only keeps the brain refreshed and working but also provides excitement and thrill like no other.

All in all, what a reader finds attractive and worthwhile depends on the individual but unlike non-fiction, fictions are great sources of entertainment according to me.
